Chapter 4430 How Naive
Kai was growing desperate. If he didn’t let this guy possess him and enter his consciousness field soon, he
wouldn't be able to hold on much longer! If things had gone on like this for much longer, I'd be done for!
“Chill, young lady,” the man sneered. “Once I'm done possessing him, I'll cto you. I’m curious about the
relationship between you and that old priest.” After the man finished speaking, he made a grabbing motion
through the air.
Suddenly, Catalina felt as if her body had been bound, frozen in place!
Even though she carried a life-saving token with her, it was useless now!
“I won't let you possess me, no matter how hard you try. I'd rather die than let you take over.” Kai's voice was
determined as he suddenly surged to his feet and charged at the stone beast statue beside him.
He would end his life by smashing into it.
The man panicked. His form shifted into a wisp of black mist, rushing toward Kai.
This was all part of Kai's plan. He wasn’t really trying to kill himself; he was pushing the man to quickly enter his
consciousness field.

If the man had known that someone like the Vermilion Demon Lord resided in Kai’s mind, he would have backed
off immediately.
Kai was forcing him into a rash decision, making sure the man didn’t have tto think it through!
Whoosh!
In an instant, the dark mist slithered into Kai's body, heading straight for his consciousness field.
Meanwhile, Kai paused, a smirk curling on his lips.
Seeing that grin, Catalina felt a chill run down her spine.
The man, now trapped within Kai's consciousness, began to laugh maniacally. “I’m gonna be free soon! | can
taste freedom!”
For thousands of years, he had been trapped here, teetering on the edge of madness, but now, after possessing
Kai, he finally saw a way out. Freedom was so close he could almost taste it.
Suddenly, a chilling voice echoed through the consciousness field. “Who are you to dream of freedom when |
haven't even claimed mine?”
The man froze, his glee replaced by alarm. “Who's there?” He had not anticipated encountering another
presence within Kai's consciousness, let alone a soul remnant.
Before he could react further, the figure of the Vermilion Demon Lord began to materialize, exuding an air of
suprdisdain.
“You...”
“You...” The man’s pupils dilated in disbelief as recognition set in. “Mr. Vermilion? Have you already taken over
this body? Please, forgive me. | had no idea you were residing here. If | had known, | would never have dared to
attempt this. | will leave immediately. | swear | will not disturb you again.”
His voice trembled as he dropped to his knees, his body shaking uncontrollably. The fear was palpable as he
groveled before the imposing figure.
The Vermilion Demon Lord regarded him with a cold, mocking smile. “Leave? Do you think you can simply walk
out now that you have intruded? | am not the owner of this body. | am merely a tenant, residing here on
borrowed time. The day Kai decides he no longer wantshere, | will crumble to nothing. And yet you, a mere
insignificant demon, think you can take what even | cannot? How naive!”
As his words settled like lead in the air, the Vermilion Demon Lord's form flickered and abruptly vanished.
Suddenly, the entire consciousness field erupted in a dazzling surge of golden light.
The Golden Tglowed fiercely, its radiant beams slicing through the air like a thousand daggers. Each pulse of
golden light evoked a blood-curdling scream from the man.

He could never have imagined that within the consciousness field of a mere Seventh-Level Tribulator lay the soul
remnant of a demon lord.
Even more shocking was the discovery of something as extraordinary as the Golden Tome, hidden within Kai's
consciousness field.
As his form began to dissolve, fading into nothingness, confusion clouded his final moments. Why was something
so valuable and dangerous nestled within such an unassuming host? He disappeared, unable to unravel the
mystery.
Kai stood still, a faint smirk playing on his lips. As the man’s spirit was eradicated, that smirk grew into a full
grin. An insignificant soul remnant dared to challenge me? How did he think he is?
When his gaze landed on Catalina, who was still bound and trembling, an idea sparked in his mind. His
expression turned mischievous. “Hey there, girl. It's been millennia since I've had the pleasure of a woman's
company. | think it’s t| made up for lost time.”
Catalina observed Kai's demeanor and was certain that Kai must have been possessed. “Stay away from me, you
b*stard!”
Bound and completely immobile, Catalina could only struggle futilely against the invisible restraints that held
her. Desperation surged within her as she cried out, hoping someone might cto her aid.
Kai chuckled darkly. “Scream all you want. No one is going to hear you. I'll show you what true power looks like.”
With that, he lunged toward her.
