Iris gave him a slight smile and nodded, “You should go to bed too.”
Acdan slept in her apartment’s guest room tonight.
“Okay” Aedan nodded, then lowered his head and kissed the top of her hair
Iris didn’t say no.
Aedan left, she lay in bed but kept tossing and turning, not sleepy at all
After more than two hours, she finally fell asleep, but then she got stuck in a nightmare and woke up in the
middle of the night.
She sat up in bed, covered in cold sweat and gasping for air. Suddenly, the bedroom door was pushed open and
the light snapped on.
Iris turned her head and saw Aedan rush in, still wearing the clothes he had on when he left her room last night.
“Had another nightmare?”
Aedan strode over to the bed and grabbed Iris’s shoulders with his big hands, his brows slightly furrowed.
Iris calmed down and looked at him, “You didn’t go to sleep?”
If he went to sleep in the guest room, there’s no way he could've co over this fast.
Acdan nodded, “I was outside the whole time.”

As he spoke, he got up again and went to pour a glass of warm water for Iris.
Iris broke out in a cold sweat and was really thirsty at this point.
She took the warm water and drank more than half the cup in one go.
“Thank you!” she said.
“Your pajamas are all wet, do you want to go change?” Aedan said.
Iris glanced at the silk pajamas that were almost sticking to her skin and nodded, saying, “You go rest, I'm fine
now.”
Aedan gave her a soft smile, his eyes unbelievably gentle, “Go get changed first.”
Iris nodded, got out of bed, went to the closet to get a new set of pajamas, and then went into the bathroom.
She took a quick hot shower again, and when she cout, Aedan was still there.
He just sat on the sofa by the window, legs crossed and chin resting on his hand, his gentle eyes gazing at a spot
in the air, quietly lost in thought.
The bright light in the bedroom was already off, only a warm, soft yellow bedside lamp was left by the bed.
The light fell on Aedan, making his whole vibe seem even warmer and softer.
“Prof. Steele.” Iris called him.
Aedan cback to himself, got up and walked over to her, then took her hand and led her to the bed, lifting up
