Chapter 846

Leon snapped, frustrated. "If that were really the case, then I'd be dreaming about her, not having nightmares."

The therapist, used to patients with emotional outbursts, remained calm and unbothered.

"You're misunderstanding me, Mr. Spencer," he said gently. "Nightmares aren't always caused by fear.

Sometimes, they stem from overwhelming sadness or emotional imbalance."

Leon took a deep breath and gave a slight nod.

"That girl... she's a therapist too. | used the excuse of getting treatment to get close to her. That day was our

final session. She hypnotizedand said..."

He proceeded to explain everything that had happened in full detail.

The therapist's expression grew uneasy as he listened. "Mr. Spencer, | think | know why you keep having those

nightmares."

"Why?"

“She implanted a psychological suggestion-something every trained therapist learns in school. And she used a

forbidden track during the session. That kind of aucan double the effect."

Leon's eyes narrowed. "I don't care about the theory. Can you fix it?"

"Of course," the therapist replied. "I can help you."

"Money's not an issue."

Leon tapped the table with his fingers, his gaze sharp and impatient.

Meanwhile, in a warm, sunlit bedroom, a baby lay on a soft bed, eyes wide and

dark as onyx. He waved his tiny arms, reaching out toward his mother.

Charlotte cooed at him with a beaming smile, eyes filled with love.

"Ma'am, why don't you go rest for a bit? I'll look after the little one," the nanny said kindly as she walked in,

holding a tray of baby food.

Charlotte shook her head and turned back with a soft laugh. "I'm not tired. Just look at him-he's so adorable. He's

starting to look more and more like his father." s

The mention of James made the nanny's expression falter for a split second.

Perhaps it was a case of not seeing clearly when you're too close, while outsiders spot everything. The nanny,

having been around long enough, saw things plainly.

Charlotte always said the sthing: now that she and James had a child, he'd eventually shift his focus back to

their family, and stop being distracted by anyone else.

But the truth was obvious to anyone watching.

James only supported Charlotte and

the baby out of obligation. There was no warmth in his actions. He spent all day holed up at work, claiming he

was too busy. Most nights, he staggered hdrunk after

midnight. s

That wasn't a marriage. It was two strangers living under the sroof.

Still, Charlotte clung to her fantasy, convincing herself everything would get better.

The nanny didn't know what Charlotte had done in the past—but watching her now, so desperate for affection,

she couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy.

"Ma'am," the nanny said, suddenly inspired by something her daughter had told her excitedly the night before.

"Hm?" Charlotte responded without looking away from the baby.

The nanny leaned in, her voice slightly excited. "Christmas is almost here. Young couples like you and Mr.

Chancer usually enjoy new experiences, right?"

She continued. "Since you've been

hwith the baby ever since postpartum confinement, you haven't had a chance to get out and unwind. Why

not take this

velme

opportunity and ask Mr. Chancer to. take you on a short trip? Somewhere scenic and relaxing, just the two of

you." s

Then, dropping her voice to a playful whisper, she added with a mischievous smile,

"A little romantic getaway could really rekindle the spark between you two... and

who knows, maybe the baby could have a new sibling soon."

Charlotte's cheeks turned pink halfway through. Her mind was already racing with daydreams full of romance

and soft pink bubbles.

She lowered her head shyly and her face was blushing.
