Chapter 469 The party had finally wrapped up.

On the drive home, Javier glanced over. "So, Allie, how'd it go with Eason?" Allison shrugged, playing it casual. "It was fine. We swapped numbers and everything." Javier perked up, clearly hopeful. "That's great! The Zackon family is a perfect match for us, and Eason's not only good-looking but also talented. You two should really see where things go." Allison's face didn't give anything away. Her voice was steady. "You can't rush these things, Dad. Feelings have to happen naturally." Javier pressed on, "But feelings can grow, you know? The more tyou spend together, the more likely you'll click." Allison's tone cooled, her expression unchanged. "Dad, I've told you I'm focused on my career right now." Javier heard the edge in her voice and let it drop with a sigh.

Back at the Owens house, Allison went straight upstairs, her expression as distant as ever.

She passed Linda in the hallway, offering only a quick, expressionless hello.

Linda greeted her with a smile, but after Allison disappeared upstairs, she turned to Javier, concern in her voice. "What's up with Allie? She seemed upset." Javier sank onto the living room sofa as a housekeeper brought him stea. He let out another sigh. "I introduced her to that Zackon boy at the party, and I might've pushed a little on the way home. She didn't like it." Linda joined him, frowning. "You know she hates when you bring that stuff up. Last tyou mentioned it at dinner, she was annoyed. Why do it again?" Javier shook his head. "The Zackon boy's a solid choice, and I just want what's best for her. I've known his family forever. We all agree it'd be a good match. Our families are equals-Allie would be treated right." Linda reached over, her voice gentle. "I know you want the best for her. But if she isn't interested, let's not push. She's driven, and that's support her career, okay? Sheet something to be proud of. Let's just amazing-she'll have plenty of options when she's ready." Javier was quiet for a moment, then nodded. "You're right. I won't bring it up again. She'll figure it out on her own." Two days earlier, Allison had called to reserve a designer handbag as a birthday gift for Carolyn.

Normally, you'd need to spend at least fifty grand before they'd even let you buy that bag, but Allison was a black card VIP, and Owens International was one of the brand's shareholders. She could get whatever she wanted with one call-no strings attached

That morning, the boutique called to say the bag had arrived. They asked if she wanted delivery or if she'd pick it up herself. Allison had already planned to meet Olivia at the mall that morning, so she told them she'd stop by in person.

When she got there, Olivia hadn't arrived yet, so Allison decided to pick up the bag on her own.

As she walked through the mall, a dress in a shop window caught her was a eye. It was a pale blue maxi dress with a halter neckline, made of airy chiffon-totally perfect for a beach getaway. Allison was instantly hooked.

She decided right then she'd wear it to Carolyn's yacht party that Saturday.

Stepping into the shop, Allison was immediately recognized by a sales associate, who noticed the high-end designer outfit she already had on. "Welcome!" The associate greeted her with a bright smile. "Can I help you with anything?" Allison pointed to the blue dress. "Yes, could you wrap that one up for me?"
