Chapter 554

To say Yolanda missed Gavin's return would be an overstatement. It was really his souvenirs she was looking

forward to.

Before, she was the type who loved traveling and rarely stayed in one place for long. She'd spend a few fixed

months in Creybia each year while the rest of her twas split between missions and exploring the world. Now

that she'd been in Riverdale for almost two months, boredom had begun to set in.

"Ms. Henderson, are you planning to have dinner at the clinic tonight?"

Dunstan cover while holding a menu from a nearby restaurant.

"We're thinking of ordering spasta. Do you want us to get you some?"

The clinic had been busier than usual today, so they were closing half an hour later than normal. Dunstan and

the others decided to eat takeout at the clinic before heading home.

"Sure. I'll have a pesto pasta," Yolanda said without looking up as she worked on an asthma treatment plan with

Baxter.

"Got it-one pesto pasta!" Dunstan responded cheerfully before keying in the order.

Meanwhile, at a bar in Riverdale, Winnie sat across from Yvonne. She looked uneasy.

"Yvonne, why did you want to meet at a place like this?" Winnie asked hesitantly.

"My friend's brother owns this bar. It's a quiet place to talk," Yvonne said with a smile. She sipped on her juice.

"Don't worry, Winnie. This isn't one of those sketchy bars."

"Alright," Winnie replied. She managed a faint smile. Since the bar was connected to Yvonne's friend's family,

there seemed to be nothing to worry about.

"But why did you want to meet today? And at a bar, no less?"

"I heard you've been getting along well with Yolanda lately," Yvonne said, her tone shifting slightly. Her hesitation

was evident, but when she looked at Winnie, her dark eyes carried a hint of vulnerability.

Winnie nodded. "We ran into each other by chance and exchanged numbers. Honestly, I've been so busy with

work that I haven't kept in touch much with you or Aunt Diana. | only found out from my mom about Yolanda's

return from the juvenile detention center."

"Don't worry about it, Winnie. You've only been out of college for a few years. It's natural to focus on work,"

Yvonne said with a practiced tone of concern before steering the conversation back to her point.

She said, "But since you've been in touch with Yolanda, could you try to talk ssense into her? Maybe

convince her to stop being so upset with the family?"

Her words were so sincere that Winnie couldn't help but feel moved.

"I know my parents hurt her feelings by sending her to juvenile detention. They thought they were doing it for

her own good, and we've tried to make it up to her since she cback. But..." Yvonne's voice cracked as her

eyes turned red.

"There are still so many misunderstandings between us. She's my sister, my family, and no matter what, she's a

Henderson. When my mom said she was adopted, it was just something she said in anger. How could anyone

take that seriously? But Yolanda has been so heartless since she left. She hasn't even contacted us once!"

"Yvonne, don't cry," Winnie said. She was flustered as she hurriedly pulled out a tissue from her bag to wipe

Yvonne's tears.

"No matter how angry Yolanda is now, she's still your family. She won't ignore you forever, and she's still your

sister after all" Winnie said, trying to comfort her. "Families fight, but it never lasts. You'll work things out

eventually."
