Aubrey’s POV
When | saw him, | fought off the dizziness from my drained energy and sneered coldly,
“Nothing serious. He just looked too weak. | was worried he wouldn’t be able to absorb the strong
medicine I’m about to prescribe, so | gave him a bit of a boost first.”
At that moment, Leon perked up, his amber eyes wide with excitement. “Really? | feel so much
stronger now!”
“You’re amazing!” His eyes sparkled with admiration as he looked at me, glowing with pure
worship.
I forced a weak smile and patted his thin shoulder.
“Don’t worry. | said I'd cure you, and | always keep my word.”
Out of the corner of my eye, | caught a flash of calculation on Shane’s face. He was clearly plotting
something.
1 ignored it. Instead, | told Leon to lie still and handed Shane a sheet of white paper and a brush. |
quickly scribbled down a list of herbs and ordered him to boil them over high heat and bring them
back in thirty minutes.

At his words, all the nearby wolf bodyguards looked over, their expressions growing tense.
Hah. That bastard was already laying the trap.
| saw right through his scheme, but on the surface | only responded with a cold smirk. “If anything happens, I'll
take full responsibility. Now go!”
Shane’s POV
That's exactly what | needed to hear.
Seeing the surrounding wolves had all heard her declaration, | grabbed the paper and headed straight to the
medicine hall. The Zach family had no shortage of rare herbs-alpha Mateo had spent years collecting them, even
risking his life in dangerous zones, just to help his sickly brother.
In the herb room, | grabbed the family’s old wolf doctor by the collar and yanked him into the corner.
“Take a look at this prescription. What happens if Leon takes it?”
The old wolf scanned it-and his eyes bulged with alarm.
“Who wrote this garbage? If Leon drinks this, he'll bleed out and die! His body's far too fragile to handle
something this potent. This isn’t treatment-it's murder!”
“Shh!”
| shoved him farther into the shadows, a growl rumbling low in my throat.

I leaned in closer, my voice low and sharp.
“Just tell me-are you sure this will kill him? Any chance it might not?”
“Absolutely none,” the old wolf doctor said firmly. “With Leon’s condition, the stronger the
medicine, the more poisonous it is to him. One dose of this and he’s done for! If you really want to
make sure, increasE the dosage just a little-but don’t overdo it or someone might notice.”
Now | was satisfied. “Good. Once Mateo’s gone, I'll remember this favor.”
The old wolf’s ears twitched nervously. “But... if something really happens, would alpha Henry go to
war with Mateo over an omega?”
I let out a sneer. “All the better if they fight. Even if they don’t, Leon’s death will be a devastating
blow to Mateo.”
“That’s true... and that might be our opening.”
Soon, the medicine was ready. I carried it carefully and returned to the garden.
“Ms. Aubrey, the medicine is ready!”
