She took another sip of water before glancing his way. “Where’s Freya?”
“In the basement.”
“You threw a woman into your dungeon?” Natasha looked incredulous, then shot him a look that said, you're on
your own. “If Kristian finds out, you're toast,” she said with a laugh.
Brendan said nothing. The moment Kristian’s nwas mentioned, his gaze darkened slightly.
Natasha didn’t press. She told him she was going to check on Freya and left the room, heading toward the
basement. Brendan didn’t stop her. That in itself said a lot.
Though Natasha often lent Brendan a hand with affairs elsewhere, she knew the layout of his house like the back

She arrived at the basement door, punched in the password, and stepped inside without hesitation.
