After Amanda hung up the phone and turned around, she saw Sophia still clutching her cell and couldn't help but nag at her, "Still
glued to your phone while you're sick? You gotta rest up and give your body sdowntto bounce back."
As she spoke, she reached out, trying to swipe Sophia's phone away. Sophia subtly dodged her outstretched hand.
"I'm fine, godmom; don't worry about me."
Sophia said, tapping her phone to check WhatsApp. The first chat at the top was from Brandon. She furrowed her brows in
confusion and opened the chat with Brandon.
The latest message was a video call icon with only a few seconds of call duration. But he hadn't replied to her last apology
message.
Sophia frowned again, puzzled as to why he would video call her out of the blue. That was not typical CEO behavior for a big
corporation. Normally, a text back would do. Video calling seemed too forward, especially since they weren't close.
Seeing Sophia frown at her phone, Amanda couldn't help but worry, "What's up?"
Sophia snapped back to reality and looked at her, "It's nothing."

After a moment's thought, Sophia couldn't help but gently say, "Godmom, if | get calls on my phone, you don’t have to fuss with it.
Just leave it be."
"I was just worried they were trying to reach you for something urgent, and | didn't want them to think you were ignoring them, so |
picked up to explain the situation," Amanda said, not upset in the slightest.
"It's okay. I'll clear it up with them later," Sophia reassured her.
Amanda nodded, "Alright then."
Just then, the doorbell rang.
"Must be the waiter bringing the thermometer. I'll go check," Amanda said as she turned and headed for the door.
Sophia's attention went back to her phone, eyeing the recent call log. After hesitating, she messaged Brandon, "Sorry, | wasn't
feeling well just now and couldn't take the video call. Is there something you needed?"
At that moment, Brandon's phone pinged with the Whatnotification. Brandon glanced at his phone, paused when he saw
Sophia’s message, and then looked back out the window for a while before finally responding.
"Sorry, hit the wrong button."
Seeing his message, Sophia felt an odd sense of relief. It explained why such a big-shot CEO would make an unsolicited video call
to a woman he barely knew - at least it meant he was a normal human being.
"No worries," she texted back quickly.
Brandon didn’t reply again. Sophia hesitated, and then set her phone down, contemplating whether to ask about the review of her
design draft. But Amanda cback with the thermometer.
Sophia had to put her phone aside and take her temperature. She had a bit of a fever, probably caused by the cold and hot
feelings she had while sleeping. Fortunately, she sweated for a bit; her temperature wasn't too high.
Still, that didn’t spare her from another round of Amanda’s nagging, essentially telling her she shouldn't have gone out alone
yesterday, what with the cold weather and viruses running rampant. With her recent recovery, her immune system was weak - she
was asking to get sick.
Despite the nagging, Amanda quickly ordered smedicine for her through delivery.

Being a doctor, Amanda had her own methods for dealing with colds and fevers. After getting the medicine, she had the hotel
kitchen whip up slight meals for Sophia.
"Staying in a hotel is so inconvenient. | wish | could make you something nutritious, but it's all so difficult here."
As Amanda looked at the hotel's meal offerings, she couldn't stop herself from rambling and urged Sophia, "Let's head back to the
boat. We've got everything there, | can take care of your diet personally, and we have doctors to check on you. You'll recover faster
that way."
The Ferber family's boat was docked at the West district pier, nearly a two-hour drive from the city center, making it quite
inconvenient to go back and forth.
Sophia was still in the dark about the status of her design draft for the West District High and whether she'd need to have further
discussions with the person in charge. It wasn't convenient to return to the boat just yet.
"Can we go back in a couple of days?" Sophia asked Amanda softly, "I've been on that boat almost every day for months, and
honestly, I'm a bit fed up. I'd like to stay on dry land a little longer."
"Once you're back with me, you can stay on land as long as you like. Right now, your healthes first," Amanda was somewhat
reluctant as she looked at the hotel's offerings, feeling it was necessary to return to the boat.
