Sophia could clearly sense that Brandon was lost in thought again, the kind of look where he seemed to be peering through her,
reminiscing about someone else.
Her smile began to waver slightly.
"Is something wrong?" she asked softly.

Sophia forced a smile. "Like what?"
"Back then..." Brandon paused, glancing at her, "I never thought to bring you along to thepany's annual party or any public
events."
"Is that really a big deal?" Sophia said, puzzled. "I never liked attending those anyway."
Brandon just shook his head with a quiet smile, not saying more.
Though business and personal life should be separate, this was hispany, theirpany. As his wife, Sophia had every right to
stand by his side at events representing Starlight Group.
Her choice not to attend was hers to make, but as her husband, he should have informed her and asked if she wanted to join,
rather than deciding for her that she didn’t need to be there.
This was a basic respect between husband and wife.
"Sophia." Brandon was absentmindedly stirring his spoon in his coffee, silent for a long moment before looking at her. "If you
regain your memory, would you still be willing to start fresh with me, without holding onto the past?"
His expression and tone were ones Sophia had never seen before—serious and heavy, which made her feel a bit uneasy.
"In the past did we have sirreconcilable differences, or did either of us make anv arave mistakes? Like cheating?" she asked
