Chapter 1940
The weekend passed, and | sent Munchking back to elementary school.
Before entering the school gate, Munchkin kissed my face lightly and then asked me, "Mommy, when Daddy
comes back during the weekend, can | go see him?"
| nodded at him despite not being sure. "Yes, we can."
Looking at Munchkin's back as he ran into the school, | suddenly felt a little sentimental.
Theo would be coming back, but | really was not sure if he would cpickup.
I drove back to Drover's villa. Marius was inside.
Upon entering the villa, he was slumped on the sofa and nibbling on an apple. He was watching TV comfortably.
"You're back?"
He just glanced atand asked before his eyes went back to the TV again.
He looked to be idle every day, | had never seen him work or do anything else.
| sat down next to him. "Marius, you seem very relaxed. Don't you need to go to work?" Even if his family had a
business, he would have to take part in its management.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHearing my question, Marius sat up quickly and patted his chest. "I have my own company, which is currently
running steadily. There are also people helpingrun it. As the big boss, | don't need to work every day. It'll
give them a lot of pressure if | do."
"Oh? What kind of company?"
"One that deals with investment. That's because | have a unique vision. Of course, it has to be an investment
company." Marius was particularly conceited and not humble at all whenever he talked about his strengths.
Looking at him evoked a small smile from me. "Aren't you afraid that someone will secretly cause trouble if you
don't go over and keep an eye on it?" There were many such examples in the business world, and | had
experienced a lot of them, which was why | reminded him about this.
Marius waved his hands. His brows
were raised, and he looked proud.
"No, | have surveillance cameras | installed. Drover foolproofed the company a long tago. | can find my
employees no matter where they are. The computers are also equipped with surveillance, so their every move is
under my control." He gestured with a palm, circling his finger clockwise to indicate that he was in control.
"Isn't that an invasion of everyone's privacy?"
"Don't worry. | won't look into it as long as nothing goes wrong, but the moment something fishy is going on, | be
sure to catch it," he said firmly and gavea wink .net
firmly and gavea winTent
I gave him a thumbs up and praised him repeatedly, "Not bad, | also have to give Drover scredit. It looks
like his planning is very thorough." "He's not just meticulous; he's essentially a you can't escape from. If there's
any movement, including at home, he would know. He also has a lot of probes."
"He must have gone through a lot to be so vigilant," | lowered my head and muttered to myself.
Even though | said it softly, Marius still caught it and sighed. "You have no idea. He once got into trouble because
of this. A friend of his who had been with him for 10 years stole his project and made a lot of money off of it.
Since then, he has been extra cautious and doesn't dare to be so candid." .net
No wonder he was still wary of Marius. | looked at Marius and asked with a smile, "Don't you feel sad, then?"
He shook his head. "I can understand why he's acting like this. It's enough forto know that he treatsas a
friend. As for the rest, | don't care."
After saying that, Marius lay down again.
It looked like Drover was very intense with his vigilance...
