While | was contemplating, Marius glanced at me. He suddenly approached and said, "Hey, Sis Wan, | heard from
Drover that Theo cback today." He winked atafter he said that as if he was eager to see my reaction.
Admittedly, | was stunned for a few seconds after he said that, but after that, | calmed myself. | grabbed a pillow
and hugged it to my chest before replying, "What about it?"
Seeing my attitude, Marius looked a little disappointed. He opened his mouth and said, "I thought I'd catch you
at a loss. | didn't expect this."
| found his words amusing and smirked. "Why should | be at a loss? What should | be at a loss for?"
"Don't you want him to cand pick you up?" Marius proddedwith a vicious smile.
1 did look forward to it, but I knew he would not come.
Shaking my head, | turned to him. "No expectations, no disappointment."
Marius pursed his lips. Pouting, he nodded thoughtfully. "Okay, | understand."

they have a meeting?"
"Yeah, | think something went wrong with the project and since he was in a hurry to discuss it, Drover went to
Grant Corporation to meet with Nicky early this morning," Marius said lightly as if it was not a big deal.
An issue with the project?
| thought back to the call Drover accepted in the living room yesterday. His tone had been different from usual. It
seemed that something had really gone wrong.
Seeing Marius’ indifferent expression, | could not help but ask, "Are you his friend or not? Why aren't you worried
at all when something has gone wrong with his project?"
Marius waved his hand and replied tocalmly, "It's because we're friends know him. Drover will solve it. Not to
mention Theo, the veteran. Who can beat them if both of them were to put their heads together?" .net
What he said was true. Theo had not yet fallen into trouble in the business world. He had experienced the

Thinking of the incident from before, | thought of Shannon again. It felt like | had not contacted her in a long
time. Since | wanted to give her a call, | went upstairs.
Back in my room, | found her number and started a video call.
She answered it very quickly, and Shannon's exuberant pose appeared in front of me. She was lying on the
reclining chair at home, enjoying the sunshine outside her window. She also had fruits on the table. twas as if
she was on vacation by the sea.
"Your life looks very comfortable." | smiled.
Shannon was noncommittal. She took off her sunglasses after turning towardand looked atcarefully.
"Your place doesn't look right. Are you not home?"
She immediately noticed something was wrong, and | could only nod, "Yes, | moved out of Regal Villa."
"What? What happened?" Shannon sat up, her big belly particularly conspicuous.
Worried that her big reaction might affect the child, | hurriedly calmed her down. "Don't worry, I'll tell you about
it slowly."
For a long tafter that, | was explaining to her what had happened this time.
Shannon listened totill the end and did not look surprised. "I told you to be careful of that Nicky woman, yet
you didn't believe me.
"No, | also informed Theo. You two really are a couple. Neither of you listened to me," she said in a dissatisfied
manner while slapping her thigh. | frowned. "When did you inform him?"
