Chapter 588: Not in Plain Sight
She waited until no one was around, then slipped inside.
Nanny’s room were at the far end. A master bedroom, larger, better furnished than the others. The door was not
locked. Nnenna eased it open, then stepped in, closing it softly behind her.
Her eyes scanned the room with calm precision. The bed neatly made, the wardrobe polished, shelves lined with
folded linens. Nothing suspicious. Nothing out of place.
She moved carefully, checking drawers, lifting blankets, tapping the wooden floorboards. Still nothing.
Her jaw tightened. There has to be something here. If she is the one, she would not keep it in plain sight.
"Love System," she whispered. "I need x ray eyes. | want to scan this room."
Ding!
"This ability costs 200 good points per minute."
"Fine. Do it."
200 points deducted.
The world shifted. Walls thinned, furniture turned transparent, every layer of the room visible to her at once. She
searched quickly, scanning the bedframe, the dresser, the desk. Nothing.
200 points deducted.
She shifted, scanning deeper this time, her eyes narrowing. Still nothing. The room looked clean, ordinary. Too
ordinary.
Her pulse quickened but she stayed composed. "One more minute."
200 points deducted.
Her gaze swept across the wardrobe, then froze. Behind it, the wall wasn’t solid. A faint cavity flickered into view.
A hidden space.
Her lips curved slightly, cold satisfaction sparking in her chest. "Found you."
She let the x ray vision fade, then crossed the room silently. With steady strength, she pulled the wardrobe
forward. Her fingers traced the wall until she felt the faint outline of a panel. A small push, and the compartment
clicked open.
Inside sat a simple wooden box.

She pulled it out, set it on the table, and lifted the lid. The bitter, metallic scent hit her nose instantly. Glass vials
glimmered under the dim light, the liquid inside unmistakable.
Arsenide derivative.
Nnenna’s expression didn’t change, but her eyes sharpened to steel. "So it really was you..." she murmured, her
voice quiet but heavy with resolve.
Nnenna closed the box and slid it back into the wall compartment, careful not to disturb its neat placement. Her
hand brushed against something else lodged at the back, a sleek black phone.
She pulled it out slowly, her brows drawing together. A personal device? That alone was unusual. Why would
Nanny hide a phone?
The screen lit up when she pressed the power button. A password wall.
"Love System," she whispered under her breath, "bypass this."
Ding!
"1,000 good points deducted."
The screen blinked once, then unlocked.
Her body stiffened.
Rows of messages, files, and call logs spilled across the screen. Nnenna’s pulse picked up, but her face stayed
unreadable. She scrolled down slowly, tracing through coded numbers and messages with odd tstamps.
Then she clicked into the gallery.
The first image loaded. Her eyes narrowed, then widened slightly as she leaned closer, her composure cracking
just enough to betray her shock.
"What... is this?" she whispered.
Her thumb trembled just enough to swipe again, and the next image only made her blood run colder.
Nnenna scrolled slowly through the phone, messages, images, call logs, memorizing each detail. With the help of
the Love System, she duplicated everything back perfectly, leaving not a trace that the device had ever been
touched. Satisfied, she slid it back into the compartment, making sure its angle was exactly as she had found it.
She rose to her feet, ready to leave, when her body froze.
Footsteps.
Two pairs. Approaching.
Her pulse quickened, but her expression stayed calm. In a swift move, she ducked under the bed, the dust
prickling her nose. A moment later, the door creaked open.
Voices.
She was right, it was two people.
"Mom, the trial for Dad is in two days. What are we going to do?" Cynthia's voice trembled with worry.
"I don't know..." Nanny sighed, her
voice heavy. "Maybe | could talk to
the staff. They all respect me3ne)

'..I don’t understand. Why would he
do this? Why would he try to poison
His Highness? The plans were solid."
"I know," Cynthia said, her tone almost pleading. "It doesn’t make sense. He wouldn't... he couldn't. Even when
they accused him, | could see it, he didn’t want to admit it. So why?"
Nanny's footsteps shifted, pacing the
room. "I've tried to see him, to ask

Her voice dropped low, shaking with a mixture of anger and helplessness. "And now... even though I've served
this household faithfully for years, I've becone of the most suspected people in this castle."
Cynthia murmured something soft, but Nnenna’s ears sharpened. Her heart beat steadily as she processed every
word.
So Nanny herself doesn’t believe he’s guilty either... then who is pulling the strings behind this?
"The guards keeping you from seeing him makes no sense," Cynthia protested. "There has to be somebody who
still listens to you! Why would they even suspect you?"
"There might be someone who can
help me," Nanny finally said after a
pause. Her voice hagdenedavith'

Under the bed, Nnenna exhaled silently. So even his family doesn’t know why he confessed... This doesn’t add
up.
She stayed put, waiting until their footsteps completely faded down the hall. Only then did she carefully roll out
from under the bed, her movements precise and quiet. Rising to her feet, she dusted herself lightly, then
reached for the doorknob.
But before her hand could close around it—
Fast footsteps.
She froze.
The door swung open abruptly. Instinct took over.
